This year, the host of the EGPR (European Global Product Realisation) – an international student workshop – was The Department of machine and product design. During this project, all together 39 students from 5 universities (University Ljubljana, University Zagrab, City University London, University of West Hungary and the BUTE) developed the prototypes of 5 product suggestions for 18 weeks, having a very intense teamwork through video conferences. The topic of the project was “Design of intelligent products to solve the problems of the elderly generation”. The industrial, the technical and the financial background were provided by the Philips Lighting Hungary Kft. The functioning prototypes of the products were successfully presented and exhibited in Building K, in June.20.
